Elan LoSo

Residents experience a rich mix of textures and designs when stepping through the doors of this multi-family property. When envisioning the art collection for this project, we talked about the ingredients of a home. The overarching idea is that our homes are a reflection of us and our experiences. The art reflects that variation. 

The large lobby installation utilizes multiple materials as a subtle nod to travel and a memory that could have been brought back. 

The enormous raw edged canvas featured in Night Swim depicts a journey with abstract lines and connectors not unlike an old treasure map. We gathered art from local artists that felt exotic or comforting or exciting, yet connected. Just as a world traveller would collect souvenirs, we picked items connected by the love of an imaginary and cultured  traveller. The irony being that all art was created by local artists and toys with the question of what makes a home.
